Corrections Policy

We aim for accuracy. When we get it wrong, we correct it openly and visibly.

How we handle corrections

When a factual error is identified โ€” by us, a reader, an expert, or a brand โ€” we:

  1. Verify the error against original sources
  2. Correct the article promptly, typically within 48 hours of confirmation
  3. Annotate the article with a “Correction” notice at the bottom describing what was changed and when
  4. Update the “Last updated” date on the article

For substantive corrections that change the article’s recommendation โ€” e.g., we previously recommended a product and learned of a serious formulation concern โ€” we email subscribers and pin the correction at the top of the article.

What counts as a correction

  • Factual errors โ€” incorrect ingredient claims, misattributed quotes, wrong study citations, outdated prices
  • Misinterpretations โ€” when we summarize a study in a way that misrepresents the original finding
  • Material omissions โ€” when we left out information that would have changed our recommendation

We don’t note corrections for minor copyediting (typos, broken links, etc.) โ€” those are fixed silently.
